Re: 3D NOOB

Thanks. Sounds like good advice and I will start looking at the vids. Also thanks for letting me know about the tip as I would have entered the diameter not the radius.

Have another question, when ordering the models, there is a choice of V3M, STL or PNG. Which one should I order?

Re: 3D NOOB

Thanks for all the replies. I love working with cherry and have plenty on hand. I can also get clear poplar which I often use for painted projects as it is cheap and takes paint very well. Have a tapered ball nose bit on the way and just updated to VCarve 10 so there is new stuff to learn. The ShopB...

Re: Need Mach 3 help

When you first set it up to cut, did you zero X & Y to the center of the board before doing tool height? mark-s No, In the six years I've been using V carve pro, I've always set x and y at the lower left hand corner. Never centered it on any of the hundreds of jobs that I've run. They have run fine...

Re: Need Mach 3 help

Trying to not waste wood. I did a test cut at a very light depth. Attached are screen shots of the preview window, the design window and the actual board. Notice that on the computer the circle above the letters is concentric. But that's not the way it carved. 20191204_164535.jpg 20191204_164545.jpg...

Need Mach 3 help

So I've been using Mach 3 on my machine for years, NO PROBLEMS. This morning I went to cut a carving board and even though in the design and previews the carving was in the center of the board, Mach 3 decided to move everything to the upper right corner. I'm behind on my orders and hope that ...

Re: VCarve v 7.5 no place to set home position

Sorry for the late reply. I got confused. The example for Version 9.5 shows the choice from the setup menu on the left side of the screen. I have version 7.5 and it is on the tool path menu that shows up on the right side of the screen. Thanks to everyone who responded. Happy New Years to all. :D :D

VCarve v 7.5 no place to set home position

In the setup dialogue box there is no place to set the home position. I've seen examples posted here that show that choice, but it is not visible on mine. Should I be looking somewhere else?

Output multiple files to Mach 3 at one time

Usually I have several toolpaths that use the same bit. I'm wondering how I could output those multiple tool paths to one file that Mach 3 would run one after another. Is it possible, using a text editor to copy and paste them into one file that then could be loaded into Mach 3. If this is in the wr...

Need some assistance in upgrading.

I upgraded one of my computers to V 7. The other computer is hooked to my CNC and is not connected to the internet. I need to know what specific, step by step, things I need to do to get the other one upgraded to V7. I'm getting tired of running up and down the stairs between the PC that's upgraded ...
