i am looking for some assistance on feed and speed for 1/2 round nose carving in 3/4 plywood. depth .25 inches. i also have 1/4 inch round nose if it will work better.
I'm attempting to make a spiral design on a 20 inch serving tray for may Grand daughter's wedding.
Her design request.

Uninstall older versions of Vcarve

I just upgraded to 9.012 Vcarve Pro. I have some older versions still installed. Is there a problem if I just use the uninstall to get rid of the older versions without affecting the latest upgrade?

Bits for working with foamed pvc(palight)

I want to experiment with some 1/2 inch PVC. The brand is Palight foamed pvc. I would welcome any suggestions as to bits to use. Ex. Number of flutes, bit diameters, does it cut well with 1/8 inch end mills. What about carve?

What is the significance of the blue color as opposed tothe yellow color seen during the calculation of tool paths? I know they signify the process of calculation, but what does the difference in color mean?

Scottp55 I will confess my ignorance. The numbers you gave ...I get the RPMs and depth of cut. Not sure about the other two which is feed rate, etc like "1.1 and .5.

I have a shark mako. PC router. The two bits I have are CMT 1/8, 1/4 shank. One up cut,one down it. Do you recc a different bit. I understand high rpm, with many shallow passes. Is that correct?

I want to use a 1/8 bit to cut out profiles in a design that is actually a scroll saw project. My reason is to get sharper detail. I haven't been down this path before. Could I get some guidance on feed rate and RPMs so I don't break as many bits? If I am successful with this I want to cut one that ...
