project radius edge onto 3d seat
Greetings-- Could someone help me try to create a 1/2" radius edge following the 3-d contour of this partially designed seat. I would like to know how to achieve it as this is not the final model. thanks--Jack

Re: help with .ai file
So with an svg I can only trace them (I bought what was explained to me as >ai and .eps files which would load as vectors). I guess they do, just too many of them. I was hoping to get much cleaner lines from a drawing done as a vector format than I can from tracing them.

help with .ai file
I purchased this .ai file from vectorstock but when I try to open it in Aspire 9.5 there are way too many lines. is there a way to get to show just the dials (faces) of the instruments. These are dashboard instrument faces for an airplane. I want to make some coasters and carve the faces into corian...

two rail sweep help
I have a carved seat I am almost satisfied with, except I want to increase the radius along the front
. I have tried to add it with a two rail sweep, but it either is added above or added as a concave radius instead of a convex radius, Any Help?- Sun Apr 26, 2020 6:04 pm

Re: outside radius around 3d model
Screenshot (6).png Screenshot (5).png [attachment=1 So I am still trying. I can'y seem to get the two rail sweep to get the radius conforming to the drawing I did. Here are screen shots of what I get. The radius is either a reversed fillet around the perimeter, or a raised dome fillet around the pe...

Re: outside radius around 3d model
Thanks for the reply. I managed to make a radius outline with two rail sweep, but it is at a set height based on the initial settings, but the perimeter height varies on this so that won't work. I will try with project tool path onto 3d model and see if I can make that work. So How do add a roundove...

Re: outside radius around 3d model
Thanks for the suggestion, but because the outside edge varies in height and width I can't see running a router around it and I'm not sure i could properly reference a round-over bit in my cnc that would come out correctly either. I cut something once with an offset around the perimeter that seemed ...

outside radius around 3d model
I am trying to put a 1/2" radius around the perimeter of this carved seat to soften the edges. Is there an easy way to do this? I tried two rail sweep but it won't work properly like the tutorial. Jack

Re: half hull
Thanks, but the resolution does not appear good enough. I downloaded the file, imported it, and ran a 3d finsh path to see what it would look like. It is very segmented. Is there a way to fix this? thanks for the reply--Jack

Re: "W" AXIS POST PROCESSOR
I have WinCNC set up with the "W" axis and I am currently using it by manually editing the gcode file by changing the Z's to W's in a text editor. I am just hoping there is an easier and faster way.

"W" AXIS POST PROCESSOR
I have a cnc with two heads, a "z" axis and a "w' axis in addition to the x and y axis. I am trying to modify the WinCNC inch post processor to output the w in place of the z. I tried replacing all the "z's" with "w's" in the post processor but it doesn't load because it doesn't recognize the w valu...
