Re: Aspire 12 and CNC on different computers

I work in a similar way to Adrian, the CNC machines have their own control computers & these have just the Control software on them they are not connected in any way to the internet. Toolpath files I transfer via a USB stick. I have a design computer at the workshop so if changes are needed then its...

you could try emailing support & asking them for permission to use it if you haven't done so already.

Try a search on the forum, I know a few different grips have been posted in the past but couldn't tell you which ones or if they are still available for download

Re: Inverting Vectric Clipart depth maps?

Not sure I fully understand but I think you are using the wrong tools, the invert function & apply are available in the picture editing tool & I don't think that is what you are trying to do. I think you are trying to create a component that is carved into the material rather than a component that i...

Re: Spindle speed Following a vcarve version change

Are you using this new computer to run the control software for your machine as well or is the new computer just for your design work.
If you are using the same computer to control your CNC & have installed the CNC control software on it are you sure you have set it up the correct way?

Re: editing stl file in vcarve 11

If you use the selected vectors option for your machining limit boundary then you can avoid machining the middle. if you don't already have one then draw a vector around the perimeter of the model, select that vector & the circle vector & use them as your boundary

Re: Halo around 3D outcarved model

Thanks for updating the post & good to hear that you are happy with the results you are now getting, just one small point. With a CNC router it is very unlikely you will ever get a good chip load with a 4 flute endmill, they are really designed for CNC mills & metals where a different type of spindl...

Another plus for the chamfer toolpath, it does multiple passes.
So does the profile toolpath

Re: Chamfer Toolpath for Mitered boxes

If you are doing a profile cut in one pass then make sure your machine is up to it, that is a lot of material to remove in one pass especially at the top where the V is at it's widest   Not all machines are going to handle that well. Not just the depth in one pass but the hold down as well...

Re: Blue Elephant CNC

There are a lot of machine manufacturers & models that aren't listed but as you have found out it is easy enough to set up yourself as long as you know which controller or control software you are using so you can select the correct post processors. If you are using the trial version you can go ahea...

Re: Halo around 3D outcarved model

What sort of touch plate do you have & what is the tolerance on it? Is it in a fixed position or is it the sort you put on the material surface or machine bed each time you use it? Is it a single touch or a 2 touch probe & have you taken the time to set it up properly? If you approach speeds are to ...

Just to add to what Adrian has said, if you mean when the clipart is not selected then you can darken it by right-clicking on it & selecting "Properties" on the pop-out box you can alter the amount of fading when the clipart is not selected.

Re: Orasmask and MDF question

It probably has nothing to do with the oramask film, if you are lifting the paint then the paint hasn't properly adhered to the surface or it hasn't cured properly before applying the oramask. If you are lifting both the top coat & the primer then there is a good chance that the 2 types of paint are...

Re: how would i take a pdf file and cut it out

As ZipperHead55 has already said a PDF file could contain just about anything, the actual file format doesn't give anything away   You aren't really going to know how best to proceed until you have imported it, once you have done that then you can make a decision on what the best method mi...
