Re: making a jig

For me the CNC is just another piece of machinery in the workshop, lots of jobs are still quicker/easier to do with other tools, don't fall into the trap of trying to do everything with the CNC, it's an easy trap to fall into when you first get a machine

Re: Job cut off on right side.

First thing I would do is check the link adze_cnc posted, how much time did you spend calibrating the machine to ensure all axis were cutting accurately before you started to cut any files?
As others have asked does the toolpath preview look good when you run it

Re: Why is this happening...again?

Not quite how I saw it Leo based on how I thought my machine moves but I could be wrong about that, can't even check it because the machine is not usable just now. I was thinking that the z axis was to low from the start & both those cuts were done as the machine was moving towards the start point f...

Re: Why is this happening...again?

+1 on all that Leo has just said

That was my thought, I am wondering if on those cuts the machine was actually stopped & then not returned to the original zero position

Re: Font Selection

They are in the windows font folder, Vectric software uses the windows installed fonts, not sure if you would be able to delete them from the windows font folder, I would check that is not going to cause problems with any other system or other programs you have installed before deleting any fonts in...

Re: Tool path is off-set

Which method you use as your machining limits shouldn't make any difference to your start point, if the machine was off 25mm on one axis then that won't be the cause of the problem. Which one of the 4 machining limit boundaries you use will depend mainly on the project & how you like to work  :...

Re: Issue closing open vectors

Took opposite approach, lowered emblem to reduce cutting time. flag.jpg I think that would probably be a better option, the lettering that you haven't added could then be vcarved. Those letters look very thin to be cut standing proud as they are in sharkcutups image, not sure what size the final pi...

Re: Tool path is off-set

Can you upload the CRV3D file to the forum? If you can't do that then a couple of screenshots would be the next best thing, first thing to do is to ensure everything is correct in the software, if it isn't then someone will help correct that for you & if it is then it means that something else is at...

Re: Why is this happening...again?

There are all kinds of things that can cause issues both mechanical & electrical & really it's a process of elimination unfortunately, first thing to determine is if the machine is losing steps, have a search on the forum as it's a subject that comes up from time to time & all the things that you wi...

Re: making a jig

Do the blocks have to have square corners? If rounded corners would work ok on your blocks then you can use the inlay loolpath to create both the male & female parts, the inlay toolpath is designed to overcome this sort of problem. If the blocks need to have square corners then use fillets as has al...

Re: Inlay Pocket Clearing Problem

Have a good look at the toolpath preview to see if those uncut parts show in the preview, as well as checking the stepover as adze_cnc has suggested you may also want to make sure a 60 degree bit fits all the way to the bottom of your angled corners. Not got software installed on this machine so can...

Re: Makerspace Edition Questions

This sort of question is better sent to Vectric support, the forum is mainly user to user & although there may be some people on the forum running the makerspace edition they still may not know the answers to your questions. Vetcric do look in on the forum but can sometimes miss posts which is why i...

Re: MASSO G3 soft and hard limits

You would be better asking this sort of question directly to the controller manufacturer or if they have their own forum then ask on that as there will be people with many different types of controller on this forum & you will get a better answer from a forum dedicated to that particular controller....

Re: Help Please....

I find using "Center" of project when setting up VCarve works best on 2 sided projects. When I first started using the software I automatically set it to bottom left corner because I knew that I would be using that as my datum for cutting, never occurred to me that I could use the centre of materia...

Re: Question on carving inlays

The software doesn't know there is material above your start depth which is why the bit plunges so far, if you are using desktop & don't have gadgets then you could set up & run a pocket toolpath to get rid of that extra material   Not something I have tried but I would think you could als...
