Re: script text

Depends on the project & the size I want the text as with any font I use, one thing you can do which is quick & easy is to use the offset tool to make your text stroke a little bit thicker, how much again depends on the size you want but there is also a limit on how large you can make the offset bef...

Re: web site design

I also use Squarespace How do you find it Leo? I am pretty new to it, haven't actually used the e commerce part yet as not set up any products for sale but have signed up for both paypal & stripe to allow me to take payments. I was told a week or so ago that I would have been better going with shop...

Re: web site design

it really depends what you want a website to do, if your looking to sell online then you would need something like an e commerce site & probably the best way to go would be using something like shopify which seems to be the easiest way to do it without having something very costly custom coded. If y...

Re: Drilling

After you run the toolpath is your z zero position the same? One option could be that you are losing steps on the z axis trying to plunge to quickly for the machine. On the same note have you checked the bit is tight in the collet & not slipping? What does the toolpath preview look like? If that show...

Re: What finish to use?

Looks very nice, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to things like finishes, it's a huge subject (well I think it is anyway  ) I would probably have done something along the same lines as sharkcutup suggested & taken a few scrap pieces to try different types of finish, really need to start ke...

Re: newbie here

Welcome Good advice from everyone, I would just add don't cherry pick what you would like to learn next, start at the begining & work your way through, getting a good grounding with the basics will help when you get to the more advanced stuff, takes a bit of time but worth the effort for me  A ...

Re: Vcarve Pro Update losses tool database

A patch shouldn't make any changes to the tool database, if one has then you would be best contacting vectric support directly, I have been using the software since version 7 & never had a problem when installing a patch. If you are updating to a newer version however using a completely fresh instal...

Re: Shark SD 100 Spoilboard

question is what are you going to be doing with it   If you make it the same saze as the table then that will work ok for most things that you do but may give you prolems if you want to tile any jobs. Reason being that you can only surface a part of the board giving you a lip all the way r...

Re: Multi level shadow box

Pictures would help or screenshots, you say the file is a PDF, well that format supports both vector & bitmap data so you may already have vectors within the zipped download. Different ways of dealing with overlaps & intersections depending on what you want to do & the toolpath strategy you are usin...

Re: US Flag USMC EGA

I have went to the ega and tried to find these duplicate vectors. Can anyone explain what I am missing. I'll gladly remove them. But when I click on a vector and hit delete the whole vector dissappear. I did go back in and selected the tool path then deleted the vector that was assigned. It's like ...

Re: Bit rises after each pass VCPro 10.514

So how can I "tell" it where the last pass ended for the next path to begin? I don't understand why the software wouldn't know where the material is, since it just removed the material during the pass. Only way to do that would be to edit the gcode, if you can learn how to do that then there isn't ...

Re: Need Help with 3D project

iHave you specified a distance you want the top of the model to sit within the material thickness ie "a gap above model" because if you haven't & the model is sitting towards the bottom of your board then the bit will plunge deeply into the material. You can't set a pass depth for a finish toolpath,...

Re: US Flag USMC EGA

What does it look like in the toolpath preview? The toolpath preview is very accurate & you need to learn to trust what you see, if it looks good once you have run the toolpath simulation then those settings are what you should be looking to use. Think I read that you had changed to a single line fo...

Re: new computer

If you have downloaded from your portal account & can't get it to instal then you might be best contacting Vectric support directly, it may be an anti virus program blocking the instal as others have said but support should be able to sort things out for you
