Re: Can SVG's be uploaded and used in Pro?

How are you creating the files you want to import? SVG would not be the best format if the files contain only bitmap data, I don't have the software on this computer to check but you may find that the bitmap data will not import into Vectric software. This may depend on the program used to export th...

Re: Need help with drill file

Just to add to what Adrian has already said. In the material set up (on the toolpath side) what is your gap above material set to? If you are using thick material & an extended reach bit if the gap above material is set quite high then you could be topping out your z axis which will alter your z-zer...

Re: DXF File

I understand that you can't upload the crv3d if it's purchased but screenshots might help   I think the first thing I would do is move all the instructions to a new layer, lock that layer & turn off the visibility. If the instructions are with certain parts then add a number to the part & ...

Re: Now I know why you need 3 dowels for double sided job

Yes, today I found out (the hard way) the reason you need three (3) dowels for a double sided job. I was sloppy and only used two dowels, and ruined a work piece in the process :( Learning by doing :D How did you ruin the workpiece? Flipped the wrong way maybe? if the dowels are tight then you can ...

Re: Slow preview

What version are you using to preview the files Adrian? The OP is still running 10.5 which won't take advantage of the GPU as V11 will so if you are reviewing using V11 you are going to see different results to the OP. Gaming computers rely heavily on GPU support but Vectric software prior to V11 ma...

Re: Foxalien Vastro XL

You don't really need the exact machine to be listed, it is easy enough to set up a new machine profile & enter the data from the manufacturer. The most important part is to make sure you are using the correct post-processor & that is determined by the machine control system rather than the actual m...

Re: Problem with Cut files

Are you transferring the files to your CNC computer before running the code or are you using a USB stick to drip feed the code? Try transferring the whole file to the computer before running the g-code. If you are using a USB stick for any part of your process have you tried using a different USB st...

Re: Using the Rotary In V-Carve Pro

Your not the only one who doesn't have a rotary   I did start making one a long time ago but it's still one of my unfinished projects. I would have had to raise the gantry on the CNC as well to be able to use it & since that was fairly major surgery it is another project that didn't get do...

Re: What wood to use

Thanks Scott, I did make these thicker than 1/2" which may have made a difference, they have certainly stood up well over time. I did do one for a friend with his Granddaughters name on it but I used a different font as I had read up on educational toys by then & used one of the suggested fonts. Sti...

Re: What wood to use

I made these a few years ago now & 2 of my Grandkids have played with them a lot, yes they have been chewed & launched across the room more than I care to think about   They are beech just over 2" tall but they are just over 3/4" thick (20mm). The bases are Oak. The corners are slightly ro...

Re: What wood to use

I generally use Beech for this sort of thing, I also know that maple is a favoured wood by toy makers but the sawmill where I buy most of my wood doesn't often have maple, I guess it's not that abundant around the area I live   Is this something that is going to be used as a teaching aid? ...

Looks like your problem has been solved but something else worth remembering is that if vectors are grouped open vectors will not show so before using the tool to find open vectors you need to make sure they are not grouped

Re: Feature request for Job Setup Datum

I normally set it as I create a new sheet but if I need to make changes then I use the sheets tab as Adrian has already mentioned.

The forum is mainly user to user, feature requests are better sent directly to Vectric where they keep a list of them
