Re: Installation on 2 computers?

Just log in to your customer portal & download them, the portal contains the most up to date Version of the software you own so any patches that are relevant to V8.5 will already be included.

Re: Material for a vacuum table

When you say sign foam do you mean the actual product sign foam as made by the Smartgroup or some other substrate like foamex?? I know absolutely nothing about the smartgroup product but if you are talking about foamex type substrates (foamed PVC Sheet) then I am not sure it would be something I wou...

Re: 3D NOOB

Speed & feed settings vary so much you would really be better doing your own experimenting, you won't learn much using other peoples settings & they may be completely wrong for your machine & how you have it set up. Don't forget when adding the tapered ball nose that it is the tip radious that you e...

Re: inlay into 3D object?

Any particular reason why you want to use the Inlay toolpath? Not something I have done but could you not use the V-inlay technique that was developed by Paul Zank ?? Since that users the Vcarve toolpath you can project onto a 3D surface, like I say not something I have done so just guessing  :...

Re: Uccnc wit vcarve

look at ger21 website, he has post processors for Vectric software, think they were also posted on here a while ago if you do a search. I have been using the mm version since they were first posted. Also worth looking at the 2017 screenset if you are thinking of using UCCNC software. http://www.thec...

Re: Edge Lit Signs

Well give it a try then   Only you will know for sure if you are happy with the end result. Yes you could use an etching paste, if you want to experiment but don't want the expense of a drag bit then that actually might be a more cost effective way of experimenting, I'm kind of lucky becau...

I haven't looked but they probably aren't different, one is an Aspire File & the other is a Vcarve file if you look at the file extension

Re: Edge Lit Signs

Ive etched glass with a drag bit & I just don't think you get as good results as you do with Acrylic, it may be something to do with light refraction & I found personally I was better sandblasting glass rather than etching it with a drag bit. Having said that if you have access to a lot for free the...

Re: Yearning for Purple Heart

I'm not an expert & have only used a few pen blanks but they were brown when they arrived with a note from the seller to say that the wood was brown when fresh cut & if left for a few days would change colour. Sure enough it did. Advice I have seen when turning pens is to turn the pen & then leave i...

+1 to what Ted said

What is this actually for? Is it for work in a certain Industry where things are worked out differently? Not something I have come across before & not a question I have seen asked on the forum

Re: Back after break

A lot depends on what you are looking for & what additional work you want to have to do. Like Adrian the first place I look is Design & Make, I know that their models are designed for the sort of work I am doing & I won't have any problems with them. I don't do that much 3D but they have been good f...

Re: Best sign format

As has already been said, ask the customer what font has been used & then use that directly if you can. If the customer doesn't know then ask them to find out from the designer for you or ask them for a contact number for the designer. You never know if you speak with the designer about it then it m...
