Re: HGH15CA Rail Block Slider

What does the manufacturer recommend? I would have a look to see what they say about their carriages, I would imagine it is either a low viscosity grease or oil. Some other factors may come into play when selecting what to use. Are the rails covered at all & do you have wippers fitter to the rails t...

Re: Odd behavior on Profile cut out

Thank you both. I assumed if I set it to cut on the outside, it would cut both vectors on the outside. Stay safe, Bob It did    The difference is that what you see as the outside looking at the vectors visually & what the computer sees as the outside dictated by the start node are 2 ...

Re: Tool database

If you have an internet connection then consider using the option to upload your tool database to your portal account, that way if you lose it again you can then download it & not have to go through adding tools you have purchased & changing all the speed & feed settings again

Re: Odd behavior on Profile cut out

Just to add to what Adrian has said, if you want to cut on the outside of both vectors you will need to change the start point of the top vector which is showing as cutting on the inside to the other end

Re: V-Carve Pro to Aspire

As John says your portal account will give details, just to answer your question about time frames though, Vectrics upgrade policy has been the same for many years I can go back as far as V7 of the software & I believe it was the same for much earlier versions. Obviously their policy may change in t...

Re: Failed Import Issues.

I was going to say that 16 gig should be alright but if there is a problem with Axiom machines reading above 8 gig them obviously that is wrong, i normally have a few drives in my pocket, couple of things, your drive may have damaged sectors rather than being past its end of life as Adrian has menti...

Re: Poor Spoil-board re-surface results

Difficult to tell from the picture but it could be a number of different things or a combination of them   Tramming is something that you should be doing anyway to ensure your spindle is running true to the table, as adze_cnc has said the wrong type of bit with a large(ish) stepover may be...

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

I have no experience with other machines or software, it's good to know that M3 and M5 are used on other machines, I am happy with what I have got for now, and as you can see, I am still learning how to use it? Not an expert & I am sure one of the g code experts will correct me if I am wrong but I ...

Re: MDF Shaker Style 1 piece cabinet doors

How does it look in the toolpath preview? If that shows sharp inside corners then that's what you will get if you set everything up correctly    Looks like you may have in the attachment, don't have the software on this machine so can't check the file. dealguy11 is your man for this s...

Re: #D carving Artifacts

As Ted has said it all appears to be on the one side so maybe a hold down issue, first thought after you mentioned the one tool was some slop in your z axis but if that were the case then I would expect the marks to be all over the part unless there were no retracts on the right hand side  :lol...

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

Been quite a while since I have bought any type of convertor but one of the problems people use to have was down to the chipset used, I was told to always look for anything with a FTDI chipset which I have always done & have never had any problems. Last time I bought anything was a few years ago so ...

Re: Water cooled spindle and relay switch?

Now I set the spindle rotation speed before any CNC operations at the VFD Inverter. I will probably adjust and optimize all my feed rates and spindle speeds so that I can leave the Spindle Speed (RPM's) at one setting. Why would you want to do that? Having one fixed speed for the spindle is not goi...

Thanks, guys I think it was trying to open in the older version. (me double-clicking the actual .crv file) and obviously flagged the message. I had to open the latest version and import it from within.. All good! Silly me, still learning. Apologies and much appreciated to you all for taking the tim...

Re: Bitmap to Vector

John, adze_cnc.. Thanks for the info. I'll play with the photo v-carve option and the instructables tutorial see what I come up with. But my big problem is getting a good clean line art image. The biggest problem you have is that the image is not really suitable for bitmap trace tools, finding a hi...
