Re: Low quality v-carve

Couple of other points that haven't been mentioned yet, don't assume your v-bit is sharp & the correct angle just because it is new & from a known manufacturer   The quality of the vectors you are using can make a big difference, if your vector artwork was generated from an auto trace then...

Re: Making animal heads

Unfortunately there is no Button to click to give yoy a perfect model from a picture, 3D modeling takes a lot of hours of practce, or at least that is the case for me   still got a long long way to go personally  I don't know if this would work but downloading an STL model as Gary ha...

Re: Trying to open pdf in desktop 10

As Adrian has said what exactly does the error message say, a screenshot of it might help, what are you trying to do & how?
Are you trying to open Vcarve by clicking on the PDF file? Have you tried opening vcarve, setting up a new page & then importing the PDF file?

Re: Font issue

Just to add to what Steve has said, all Vectric software uses fonts installed in the windows font folder, if you want to add fonts then add them to the windows font folder, the only fonts that come with the software are the single line fonts & these can not be deleted or added to (unfortunately :lol...

Re: Toolpath Tiling

There are some tutorials that cover it if you haven't watched them, just use the search function within the tutorials, the 0.0 is refering to your material block rather than machine or absolute zero.

Re: Zeroed Z height difference

As Randall says providing the CRV file will be a great help, if you have set your material thickness to 12mm in Vcarve & your profile cut is 12mm then the toolpath preview should show the toolpath cutting all the way through the material :providing you have done everything correctly   If y...

Re: pdf help

Thanks is there someway to convert this to a pdf or dxf? It already is a PDF file so you can't convert it to one    What you need to understand is that certain file types support both Vector & Bitmap data, PDF is one of those so a PDF file may contain all Vetor data, all Bitmap data ...

How are you trying to open them?
That is a bitmap file so doesn't contain any vectors, if you zoom in you will see the lines are not broken, it just appears that way when viewing the whole image

John types faster than me

Re: Mother's Kitchen issues

I’ve heard from a couple other folks who ran into this same problem recently. Their machines just didn’t have enough Z travel for the Home Position Z setting in the original project files. It’s sometimes hard to remember to check every single thing before running pre-made files . But, it must be do...

As Adrian has said the most likely cause is the z gap above model, in that file Michael has it set to just short of 2 inches

Re: Vcarve Pro not importing Sketchup2020

Do you not have the option to save as an older version in sketch up? The problem will probably be that sketch up have made changes & 3rd party import filters such as those used by Vectric haven't caught up yet. I would contact support if your having problems

Re: flat space

If you don't want to touch the material where the name is to go then you should be able to do that using vector boundaries. Draw a vector for the part you want to leave unmachined, draw a vector boundary for your flag model, select both & use the vector boundary option when creating your roughing & ...

Re: Drive Stand - 3D Print

Hello Martin, The folks who actually make money with these machines run "print farms". Lots of printers and usually not crazy expensive ones. It only makes sense. If you get an order for 20 somethings and you have one machine and the print time is 3 hours, well, there goes 60 hours. Or about three ...

Re: Drive Stand - 3D Print

Steve, I was looking about as well, I think to some degree it is a bit like buying a CNC or a Laser, first thing to ask yourself is what do you want it for & what sort of size do you need. I thought it might be something I could use for the business & was looking at what to me would be very expensiv...
