Re: Cutting Inside and Outside the Line

For closed vectors there is an inside & an outside to the shape so it is pretty easy to determine which is which. With an open vector even if the shape looks to be closed the software sees it as a line with outside being to the right of the line & inside being to the left when standing on the start ...

Re: Operating system

This is what the system requirements page on the main website says: Aspire, VCarve Pro/Desktop and Cut2D Pro/Desktop software is 64Bit, and will work on 64bit Operating systems. Cut3D and PhotoVCarve software is 32bit, and will work on both 32bit and 64bit Operating systems. Thanks Adrian, never th...

Re: Z Zeroing to Spoilboard Question

Any particular reason for moving to mach4, licence fee put me off because although I don't do that much I am still a Business so not able to buy hobby version. Have you asked this question on the mach support site? You are more likely to get an answer there as there will be more people with the same...

Re: Vcarve finishing pass

There is quite a steep learning curve if you are new to all of this. Why not start by working your way through some of the tutorials, not just watching them but downloading the files and actually running the jobs on the machine. The toolpath preview gives a very accurate preview of what the job will...

Re: Inlay Vector Help

Not looked at your file but get the idea, as Adrian has said you will need to split the design up & will need multiple copies of some of the vectors, this is where layers come in handy as each piece can be on it's own layer. With something like this I start by having a master layer with the original...

Re: Operating system

I would contact support directly, I thought 32 bit was still supported although my version of windows 7 is a 64 bit version. Can you instal a 64 bit version of windows on the machine? My laptop is over 10 years old, it originally had vista 32 bit on it a dual core processor & 2 gig of ram. I u...

Re: deleting previous versions of vectric software

You only have 2 versions on your computer, V10 & V10.5, 10.507 isn't a new version it's a patch to correct any bugs that are found within V10.5 so don't go deleting 10 & 10.5 because you then won't have any software on your computer   Deleteing V10 will free up some space & you don't need ...

Christmas trees

I was looking for a slot together Christmas tree file recently but couldn't find it in the end, I did find a picture of the file I was looking for so just used that as a template & traced it. Added a star to the top for good measure. This was for a local Community group who have started a Fairy wood...

Re: Making Pockets Dished

Thanks for the advise gentlemen, I will have to keep trying your recommendations. I would have used the dished ones in clip art but my shapes are irregular shaped. I don't think you can alter the shapes in clip art You can alter them to some extent but probably not in the way you might want to. You...

Don't let the program fool you, it may look daunting but it is pretty easy to work with, easy for me to say I guess having worked with Vector graphics for 20 odd years   If you are looking at tutorials then spend some time with the Vector drawing tutorials, this one shows a lot of what is ...

My apologies to all v carve users... this is the first time I have uploaded a Vectric file and did not know that you can’t use crv files. As South Australia is currently on lock down for the next 6 days due to a COVID second wave outbreak we have been ordered to stay at home. I shall draw this up i...

Re: Resin Inlay $20 Target Cutting Board Test

Looks good to me Ron, your resin experimenting has come a long way in a fairly short period of time well done on that front. So what was the process for this one? Did you do one colour at a time & machine for next colour once the first one was cured? All the resin work I have done has been single co...

After you get the post-processor installed and can save the toolpaths as "g-code" how will you import them into VCarve Desktop?

Re: Inlay 2 Colors insert Project

First thing is to decide if you are happy with the rounded corners, using the inlay toolpath you are always going to have rounded corners because that's what the inlay toolpath is designed to do. If you want to have sharp corners then the inlay tool is not the way to do this project. You would be be...
