Re: Vector lines versus what the bits cut

After getting a better understanding of bit path versus vector lines I’m 98% sure where I went wrong One of the great things about the software is the toolpath preview, learn to trust it because it is very accurate. if the toolpath preview is correct then you can be sure the project will be as well...

Re: What is the best router?

I'm planning to buy the CNC Shark SD120 router table. I'm leaning toward using a DeWalt router because it has 1.25 hp. I'm looking for some guidance on what model no. to buy, or for other recommendations. Because the SD120 only accepts 1/4-inch shanks, I want to buy the best that DeWalt sells. Than...

Re: Can Vcarve Pro do this?

I could explain but I won't, probably not do a very good job & confise you even more

This is an old tutorial so things might have changed a bit, might be worth checking through the latest tutorials to see if things have changed.

Re: Importing Adobe Illustrator file challenges

Strange that the EPS file is giving problems, EPS is normally the best option when working between different programs, it is what I normally suggest people try when they are having problems importing other file formats. I have signmaking software that I often use for design work & have always export...

Re: Any Gerber CNC Router

What is it you would like to know Phil ?? I have a gerber system 48 which is an older machine, I bought mine spares or repair very cheaply & then rebuilt it using modern electronics so never run it under gerbers motion control & software. Gerber machines run on their own proprietary software & I hav...

Re: Thread Milling

Does anyone have a source for the threading tool? Before you go ahead & buy a thread mill have a think about what size threads you want to be able to cut. There are a range of different sized cutters on the site Steve linked to so take a bit of time & try to find something that best matches the siz...

Re: Textures and tiles in VCarve Desktop

There is some texture capability within Vcarve Desktop but not as much as there is in Aspire, there is a vector texture tool & also a texture toolpath but these might not do what you require. You can import one third party 3D model into Vcarve Desktop so you would be able to import your texture & OB...

Re: Hoping to use 1/2"-shank bits

Couple of questions, having read sharkcutup reply I went & had a look at the machine. What is it you want to be able to do with the machine & what sort of materials are you looking to cut. A lot of the entry level/hobby machines are quite limited by things like speed & materials they can cut well wh...

Re: Hoping to use 1/2"-shank bits

Thank you, but Shark forum has few active members. That's why I'm coming to Vectric. Could someone please respond to my initial question? Thanks. I would ask on the shark forum as well as here as Ted has suggested, while there are a lot of active members on this forum you may find that non of the a...

Re: 10.507 is missing

Hi, Currently having the same problem as the OP. I'm only able to download the Aspire patch to v10.507. Can't find the original 10.507 using the Help Update, clicking on the message in the top right corner or by going directly to the website. Each time I'm offered the patch but not the original v10...

Re: Need help expanding tool database

Here is a .crv file of some of the most common Form Tool Profiles. Tooldrawing Profiles.crv When using these profiles you must resize to the correct configuration of your purchased Router Bit. Most manufactures of Router bits are now posting pdf drawings of some of their router bits. Some even have...

Re: CAN'T INPUT A THREAD LENGTH

I would need to watch the thread milling tutorial again but I think the thread length is determined from other options like the tool being used & tyhe max depth   I've never tried to alter it myself, just went with what ever value it was from the max depth I set

Re: Need help expanding tool database

That's the main problem with searching youtube for tutorials, Vectric update the tutorials so you are better watching the tutorials from the links on the vectric website or from the links in your portal account

it's 04.30am here in UK so not got time to check it just now

Re: Thread Milling

My issue is that VCarve generates a single helical pass of the threadmill and thus does not cut the threads deeply enough into the the sides of the central hole rather than that the bore is too large. It should be cutting to the depth you have specified, what material are you cutting? I've only use...
