Re: Cannot figure out how to Array Copy a 2 sided job

In June of 2019, I filed a bug that you can't select or group items on both sides of a 2-sided design. I got the boiler-plate reply: Thank you for your suggestion on allowing the user to tie vectors together in a group on both sides of the material. I will also add this to our list of development fe...

Sharing tabs on adjacent parts?

Hi. If I am going to cut a part with a 1/4" endmill, I cut a 1/4" path around the outside, but place tabs strategically around the perimeter so that the part doesn't jamb the endmill and the cut-out part doesn't move or go careening across my shop once it's free. If I have two adjacent parts, I've b...

display layer menu in html?

How do I display a menu with all the layers in the design? I can get a list of the layers with the following, but how do I get that into the HTML? local job = VectricJob() if not job.Exists then DisplayMessageBox("No job loaded") return false; end local active_layer = job.LayerManager:GetActiveLayer...

Re: How can I copy and paste crv files while retaining layer

If you edit the DXF file in a text editor, you can fix the text case. Look for LAYER lines in the DXF file: 0 LAYER 2 DEF-TITLE Change the case for the layer name: 0 LAYER 2 Def-Title Save the DXF file and Import Vectors. The imported layers will retain the case. Unfortunately, the Text Objects are ...

Ventilation grills for the high school theatre

When the local high school built their small theatre (right behind the big theatre), they built a stage that covered up the ventilation returns for the room. This made the theatre too hot or too cold, depending on the season. I used Aspire to design 4 ventilation grills that I cut on my ShopBot (min...

how does setting Z=0 affect how deep the cuts are?

I'm trying to make some cuts in some wood where the depth of the hole, with respect to the bottom of the board, is critical. That is, the bottom of the board has been leveled. The top of the board is close to level, but not exactly level, but that doesn't matter to me because most of it will be carv...

Re: 3D Modelling and no-cut zone

I've watched many of them, and they're well done and really useful.

Unless you memorize everything, it's really hard to go back and search for a concept, such as "no-cut zone".

3D Modelling and no-cut zone

Hi. I'm trying to add a 3-D shape on the perimeter of an already-milled 3D design. The inside of the field has mounting holes for bolts. I want to create the 3D roughing and finishing steps for the perimeter without hitting anything on the inside (especially the already-cut portions of the design an...
