Hey all.
Just want to throw out my $0.02 that I'd really like to see what is in v12 as well.
Patiently (sort of) waiting....

Problem saving toolpaths
Is anyone else having intermittent problems with Aspire hanging up when saving toolpaths? I haven't been able to isolate a cause, but it happens periodically, and I have to shut down Aspire (losing any unsaved changes) before I can try to save again. :( I am running the most current version of Aspir...

Re: Double Sided Tape for holding down work to base board
As some additional thoughts, I've used several different methods of tape/glue to hold down work, depending on what I'm cutting. 1. Painters tape/super glue. I'm not going to expand on this, as it's been pretty well discussed above. 2. Painters tape/slow cure Hot melt glue - This is a great combinati...

Re: Flat Bottom Engraving Bits
I've been using the in-groove bits for years as well. I wouldn't trade them. They are very strong, and last forever. I almost exclusively use the 30' 0.005" flat and use a touch probe to set my Z on every job. I've never had one break a tip on me. They are expensive to get in Canada ($33 each + ship...

Re: Toolpathing failure on separate last pass option
So I changed the last pass depth from 0.03 to 0.02 and it accepted it. Maybe the program doesn't like more than a 20% final pass?

The notes for 10.0.16 say this issue has been fixed, but I updated this morning, and still get the same message.

Re: Plaque Techniques
Some general rules of thumb that I use when I make a plaque are: 30' engraving bit Lines are 'profile on' and between .03 and .05" deep. I use v-carve for all lettering with a flat depth of .05 to .08 depending on the size of the lettering. If it is REALLY big I may go as deep as .125". I use the sa...

Re: Scaling text depths
It looks like you used a single line font, and use a profile-on technique? Most of the text I do is v-carved, with a flat depth set to .03 to .05, but everything I do is quit small. When I do a larger sign, I set the flat depth to 1/8 of an inch, but with smaller lettering it hardly ever gets that d...
