Re: Tool_Renumber Gadget to renumber tools

Some post processor files can be written to put the tool name and data into your cutting file. Maybe tweak your post processor code?

Re: In the beginning...

I’d use oak, because it is cheap here. Plus, it burns well.

However, we should ask what type of tasks do you want to practice. I’d say pick easy projects and plan to be successful so use the wood you like.

Re: Counterbore? Pocket? How do I do this?

There is more than one way to accomplish this. Here is one way.
I suspect you have a 9 inch and 10.5 inch diameter vectors.
Using the Pocket tool path select the 10.5 and 9 inch vectors and set your pocket depth at 0.25 inch. Probably select an offset cutting direction.

Re: Removing material inside a rectangle

Or, instead of the pocket toolpath select the same two closed vectors (text and rectangle) then use the Vcarve toolpath. Select a v bit and a clearing end mill. Set a fixed depth.

See which method you like.

Re: Forum Log-in

I haven't changed anything that I know of in the five devices involved. However, I must have. Given that I am probably the only one having problems, I'll dig in to the possibilities here and not bother Vectric team at this point.

Thanks.

Forum Log-in

I suspect it is just me but I have noticed a change when connecting to the forum. I have shortcuts on the shop, house, ipad, iphone and windows laptop. I used to be able to log in once and it would last for a long time, weeks, before I would have to log in again. Obviously, those browsers where I de...

Re: Stupid Question?

I found my Photo V Carve program files here along with the original Post Processors. No AVID on my list. Given this software is pretty old without updates you probably have to ask for help from the machine or Vectric folks.

Re: 2 Sided Machining

If I understand correctly you would have a start depth of 0.0 for both sides. When you flip it over it uses the top material surface as zero.

Re: How to put Lines on a Cribbage Board Path

Using your crv file I’d add a simple rectangle using the center peg holes to figure out the right size and location. Then add radius the corners of that rectangle so they match those holes on the corners. From that rectangle I suspect you can add whatever you want.
