Re: Hand mirrors

Nice work Bud
I will have to give this a go for my granddaughters birthday. She will be 5 in March, and I'm sure she will remember it forever :)

Re: Passive Amplifier

Paul
The sound port was machined at .1 deep straight across to the diameter of the smallest conical, and is joined in the middle by a 13/32 dia. hole that goes through the cabinet to join the speaker in the back of the phone.

Re: Passive Amplifier

Phil You're correct they are conical in shape, the method I used to cut them was with using a pocketing tool path strategy. Paul Yes there is a sound port machined into the back plate, which is hard to see because the phone is in the pocket. I re-sawed the back off of the cabinet, and machined the p...

Passive Amplifier

This makes for a simple project, and was written up in VCarvePro7. It is made of red oak, and walnut.

Re: Horses Plaque

Thanks Tony, Michael Michael not quite sure what you mean by the blue area. The main horse head model is walnut and is finished with MINWAX, Antique Oil Finish. The backing plaque with the smaller model machined into it is made of cherry, and is finished with GENERAL FINISHES, Salad Bowl Finish. So ...

Re: STL models

Hi All Reading back over this post I realized that I didn't put forth enough information to my problem, and that is the models that I'm trying to remove the boundary box from are actually in the dish/A format. I have with Aspire been able to put a vector around the dish, and the preview appears to o...

Re: STL models

Thanks Angie
Do you know if there is a tutorial on this process? I also have down loaded a trial version of Aspire, do you know if the trial version will allow me to do this?
Thanks

STL models

Hi All
I have a lot of models in the .stl format, the problem with these models is that when using in Cut3D, the model cuts outside the boundary of the actual model.
My question is; with Aspire can I modify these .stl models, and eliminate the wasted machine time?
Thanks

Re: 3d model boundry

Tim
Thanks that does explain why I couldn't find the .V3M format. I have already tried your idea with the symetrical offset and couldn't get rid of the blue machine lines in my preview. I will contact them to see if they can help, and if maybe the .vna file might provide a solution.

Re: 3d model boundry

Tim
I did log back on to the Vector Clip3d website. They have four file formats available besides .stl they have, .RLF, .VNA, and .PTN
I'm guessing that .VNA, would be the one I need, as in the description it says it's for (Artclip3D&Type3)
Thanks for the help

3d model boundry

Hi All I'm using Cut3D version 1.11, and am trying to cut a 3D model in STL format. My problem is I'm trying to get the program to stop machining the surface of the material around the model. The model is in the A format (dished), and I would like it to stop cutting this area. I don't have this prob...
