Sounds like you have a great plan to teach them how to design on the computer and then take it to the making stage on the CNC. The boys should learn a lot from this process. Thanks for sharing.

You could rout a horizontal slot in the back of the plaque that a french cleat type piece would fit into. Say 3/8" deep with a beveled cleat fastened to the wall. You could get really tricky and use a dovetail bit to make the upper side of the slot beveled for more security. Even if you brought the ...

Great job on the center medallion. I have tried to do the Idaho seal with similar details and it is not nearly as good as you have done. Project overall looks very good. Thanks for sharing.
