Re: Speeding up 3D (Wine Cellar Door)

I usually run mine at 3-3.5" per minute.... roughly 180" per hour.... Don't know what machine you are using, or what it's capable of, but this is the speed I use on my shopbot standard....

Re: flat area clearancing tool help needed

If you are using raster for the pocket clean out, and you are carving in wood, the raster makes a climb cut then a conventional cut...I find that with my set-up, this will leave one smooth cut and then one will be a little rougher, which leaves lines making you think that the z may not be set proper...

Re: Vcarve Image

Thank you Randall, I actually have their Mega Collection, and wasn't completely satisfied with what I could find. Mike, that is awesome, and I appreciate your help. I see you're in Hayesville, that's just around the corner from me. Nice to know another local. Thanx again

Vcarve Image

I'm looking for a vector form of a racecar kinda like Nascar, without infringing on copyrights. I can't find any car vectors to use for this. This is for a friends son's toy box. Anybody know of anywhere to find one, I'd appreciate it....thanx

Re: It was going great, and then...hilarity did NOT ensue.

the rear model should have .761" gap below model (since the front model is .761") ....which when added to the rear model height would be greater than the 2" material being used, (so the math doesn't work).....I've never done a complete model, so take my advice very lightly...lol

Re: Cutting one of the Vectric "Dish" images

In modeling tab, you can create vector boundary around model. Then highlight the vector, and create toolpath for 3D. That should keep it from carving any unwanted parts.

Re: Need a little help on this one

I'm kinda new here to this, but I looked at your crv file, and it appeared to be doubled, so I removed one set of the vectors, then I selected all and offset the vectors to the outside by .11...using a 60degree .25 vbit, it seemed to carve out okay....try that and see if that's what you are looking ...

Re: Asked and answered?

The thickness of the model is bigger than the thickness of your material...In your modeling tab, you'll find the icon to scale z height, or model height....just scale it down to fit into your material...

Re: Photo V Carve help.

I would try putting somemore sealer on it...maybe an extra coat of shellac....I have discovered that If I don't get the material super sealed, the stain still penetrates too much...

Re: Vector Art 3d Newbie help needed.

the clipart should have three versions...version A is like what you have used in the pic, version B would give you an inset oval, and version C would give you a kinda notched inset pattern....so see if you have this file with a B....it should be what you are looking for...

Easier said than done...lol... everytime I change color, it changes color for all toolpaths....and how do you have separate colors on your sign....I just can't figure it out... I'm overlooking something somewhere....
