"Use selected vectors as pattern" option in texture toolpath
You may want to play with the "use selected vectors as pattern" option in the texture toolpath. You can get some really cool affects.
For example this texture applied to the inside of a bowl: To get this start with a vector starting at the center of the object you want to texture. Use the circular array to rotate it 20 degrees. (make sure the vector and circle use the same center) then create similar vectors to fill in between. And test a small texture toolpath using the option to see what it looks like. When you are happy use the circular array to put, say, 30 copies in the 360 degree area. Max number of images reached see next post...

Tim,
Thank you! I'll see how it integrates into a project that I'm working on later today.

tim there are a few pdf's of methods begining to surface i am sure vectric will eventually give us a technical forum to catalog these, i would consider this as this is really good work!!

I am more than willing to take credit for seeing this function and gleaning some of its potential. But to be honest I am in awe of the foresight Brian had in seeing the potential and putting in the functionality to take advantage of it.
How many other..."easter eggs" are there in Vectric's software that we have overlooked?

Post your results, I'm sure it will spark ideas for others!

Cool.
That's not an Eaaster Egg" that's creative use of a program that allows you to make good use of your creativity.

Tim,
Glad to see you shared this. It is a great "find" in great software and like you said what else can it do??? Seems endless.
I would like to see your tree logo in the bottom of a bowl with texture surrounding it and all of it projected on the inner surface of the bowl

tim, realize this was posted a long time ago, but I just now saw it. love it. however I'm not getting your results. using vcve 7, either I get the texture over whole sheet or sometimes get a fluted cut on vectors. is it me or does vcve 7 give different results. ted

Re: "Use selected vectors as pattern" option in texture tool
Hi Ted,
I just ran a test using Vcarve 7 and the results are the same as I post above. This could be described as a fluted cut on vectors. But using the texture toolpath with the "use selected vectors as pattern" automates it.

tim, as usual, all my fault, I did not see that you created the vectors in between the reference lines. thanks for the vision and thanks for the response. ted
