Harley-Davidson single Key Holder

Post by Buelman »

Think this will come in handy for some, maybe as a gift for someone!
I designed this on Apire3,5 as a "Beginners-PROJECT" it's not fully step by step but give you enough info to follow the project through.
You can download the files here http://www.craftconnectonline.com/beginner.html and include the Aspire3.5 file (.crv3d)
All was done on my Juct6090A cnc router.

Hope this is useful for some.

Rudolph,

Thanks for posting the Harley project. Finished setting up my new machine yesterday and that was my first run project.

What a very nice looking free project you've put together, I'm sure there are a lot of Aspire users that appreciate the time and effort that went into this.

I do not have Aspire (VCarve Pro user) but wanted to chime in and say thanks for your efforts.

Thank you, kindly. I have a Harley rider in my neighborhood, and I am sure he will appreciate this.

Nice little project, I like the white outline on the letters. Did you paint with first white and then black?

I really like that project but I was wondering, can it be cut with VCarve Pro v5.5 That's the software I have and haven't found a real need to upgrade at this point.

Very nice job!

1) First- More about the material I used: Laminate floors the vinyl type that measure 4mm in thickness. Although laminate flooring looks like wood, there is actually no solid wood used in its construction. laminate is topped with a high resolution photographic image that gives you the impression of natural wood.
2) Didn't use any paint on this project just normal shoe polish to blacken the deep groove engraving and the white around the lettering is the natural effect of the synthetic laminate vinyl floor planks when you cut thru the high photographic image on top. You can enhance the effect a little bit by rubbing over the carve using scouring pads but DO NOT overdo it! some more detail with images can be seen here http://www.thekeybutler.com/faq.html

No need to upgrade, Mate. Done it for you in VCarve 5.5 download as well.

There are abbundince of stainless steel hooks on the market and most of them are made in China but packed for your local hardware store ours are " Bunnings " but that is in Australia and I find a website http://hookz.com.au/

I sujest you just modify the "Hook Pocket" to suite the hook closeced to the one I used and if you need help I do my best!

Rudolph, I tried to go to the link and it didn't work. Also I don't have Apire can i be done with VCarve Pro 5? We may have talked in the past and I got your help but since then I had a minor stroke and the VA is doing their best to keep me from having another. I'd love to make one of these for a friend who has done a lot of helping since the stroke and heart attack. Thanks and I love the looks and idea. Greg

Hi GAWnCA
After reading your post, I remembered that I had that file somewhere on my computer. I did find it and the original was in Aspire and metric. I had a little time on my hands…. so I converted into V-Crave 5 for you are anyone else that my need it. I also convert it to inches and created new tool paths. Always remember "CHECK TOOLING PATHS" that were created by someone else before running on your machine!
This is not my design, so I hope I didn't offend anyone in any way. Just trying to help out fellow CNC’ers

Enjoy,
Teepaco
