Frank Haverkamp sent us this information showing how the Slicing functionality
in Cut3D is allowing him to make large 3D models from relatively thin sheets
of wood and mdf.
Frank commented,
It used to take me an hour to create slices in solidworks and then save them to files.
I would then cut them in Visualmill. Since I got Cut3D I import the whole .stl object
and slice it in minutes. I then just program and cut. Simple!
Anyone guess what the models are?

I think you're a winner, Chuck!CRFultz wrote:I'm guessing something to do with loud speakers

Nice job
Nice job Tony. I'm glad you were able to use the pics. As Chuck figured out, Loudspeakers is what we do. I used to use Visual Mill basic for everything, and still do use it for certain things that Cut 3D won't toolpath. Solidworks Model issues with the way I create them. I can say with 100% honesty that if I had known about Cut 3D before I bought VM, I would have saved the $3000 and been raving about Cut 3D earlier. It was not until a fellow bot-er, Brady W. told me about it, and told me I should try it. Not to praise Brady, but when he talks I listen. I bought it sight unseen and have used it since then. This a great product and for the money it is unbelievable.
Frank
PS Tony: Any chance there will be a 4 or 5 axis version? Can the current version do tool changes, not that my bot has one yet?

Yes they are. It's the same company, we just are known by several names. We still make speakers for outdoor use but are now producing wooden speakers for indoor use also. There still really loud and rock solid. Since you used them in the 70's we have diverified. Our speakers are now part of most large venues and we have now started to creap into the consumer market.
