I use the mach 2/3 arcs pp but the oval in this file still cuts as straght line moves. Do I have somthing messed up or does it only do circles as arcs?

Kevin it should cut as a arc. There are only 4 nodes so Mach should cut it pretty smooth....My guess it would be your Mach settings......check to see if you have constant velocity box checked...

Hi Kevin,

Arcs will only be output in the CNC code where the original vector geometry includes arcs and lines.
Where a design is constructed from Bezier curves the toolpath will be G1 point to point moves.

It is possible to convert Bezier curves to Arcs using the Node Editing Tools that are available
off the Right mouse menu, or a much quicker method is to use the keyboard shortcuts,

N - Node Edit
I – Insert Point (often need to insert intermediate points to maintain the shape)
A – Convert span to Arc

This is can be a time consuming process but sometimes worth the effort.

I hope this helps,

Tony

Tony, is it possible to arc fit vectors with V carve?

Thank you,

David

Hi David,

Not automatically.

Bezier curves can only be converted to arcs using the manual Node Editing
tools described above.

I'm not sure if the DXFTools utility in this thread is of any help,

Arc Fitting

Post by David Fuller »

Hello Tony,

Do you have any plans on adding Arc-Fitting (other than curve by curve) of curves?

Thank you,

David

Hi David,

This is on the development list but afraid I can't give you a time scale at the moment.

Tony
