Need help with joining open vectors
I am trying to make a cutting board to fit over a sink. The sink ,manufacturer sent me a template but the manufacturer in order to achieve one of the curves they used a circle to achieve the curve. I'm tried to maintain the curve but delete most of the circle. I could not figure out how to do this so I moved the circle out of the way and used the curve tool but could not figure out how to join the ends of the curve to the existing sides of the template.
Help please, see attached Vcarve Pro file

Re: Need help with joining open vectors
Loads of different ways of doing but in this case I would use the Interactive trim (scissors) tool to cut away the inner part of the circle, then press Ctrl-A (or drag select) to select all the vectors and press J to bring up the join tool. That will join all the continuous open vectors and leave you with one open vector that you can select and delete.
You could also delete the circle and then select the two vectors either side of the gap and use the join with a smooth curve tool to fill in the gap. That might not be exactly the same curve as the circle though so you would need to check that. Finally use the join tool to join all the other vectors up.

here you go... I have this issue and I started using layers to manage over-lapping lines.

Re: Need help with joining open vectors
I am not exactly sure how the circle was created but there is a double line on the circle at that radius location of the circle. I thought maybe a curved line and the circle may have been grouped together but they will not separate when clicking ungroup. Strange circumstance here. Zoom in on circle at that location and you will see there are two vectors there on the circle.
Re created new circle with same diameter. Deleted original circle. Placed circle in that section of the template then used scissors tool to cut away inside diameter. Could have used Draw Curve tool also but was replicating original problem description. I then joined the vectors using join/close tool (move end points to common point) for both ends of vector.
I would also like to add that I have noted that there are several other vectors of the template that need to be joined before creating toolpaths.

Excellent job sharkcutup.
I need to learn how to use the vector validator more often.

You don't need to create a new circle. As in my reply once you've cut the circle with the trim tool the odd vector is then left orphaned and can be deleted before using the join tool to join all the other vectors.

Agreed!
You do not need to create a new circle. I did create a new circle because I was not able to find a way to get the stray vector un-attached from the original circle.
As Adrian has said the stray vector can be deleted before joining circle portion vector to the template vectors. Once the circle portion inside the sink template is removed using scissors tool the vectors separate whereby the stray can be deleted prior to joining remaining circle portion vector to the sink template vectors.

Re: Need help with joining open vectors
Sorry, I was thinking the circle was a desired component.
Thanks,
