Re: Celtic Cross
Mark, your tiny projects are awesome. Do you just shrink down standard files to cut or do you buy “tiny files”?
If you do buy may I ask where? I loved the owl you posted as well.

Re: Celtic Cross
Holzarbeiter, I shrink them to cut quickly, some turn out awesome
others not so much.
Most of these are found free on the net.
I`ll be cutting that owl at 3 inch for a christmas ornament.
Thanks

Re: Celtic Cross
NICE job on that one Mark!
THIN sides in a few places...good job keeping them whole!
What's hold down, and are you using tabs?
IF tiny tabs, or another tape method, hand sanding lightly with 400-600G before removal and things are still flush will be better than trying to sand after removal.
GOOD job:)

Re: Celtic Cross
Scott, first of all thank you.
I think you and I are the only ones that like cutting tiny.
No hold down other than screws somewhat close to the size being cut.
Although one I cut today a 2 incher broke, will glue it up and see how it looks.
Already going to cut another one tomorrow.
Thanks

Re: Celtic Cross
I think that may gradually be changing Mark
Just had a visitor 2 weeks ago visit my shop, and he's already bought the small TBNs and is waiting for them....
AND his wife has already asked him for buttons
Also a person really has to pick them up and handle them, to really GET it.
It's also a Niche market, BUT that really is the way to go for small shops,or you get caught up in the EBay, and Etsy pricing loop and work for nothing:(
Christmas is coming, so maybe people will try making Heirloom Christmas tree ornaments for loved ones, and actually see people pass it around and holding them
One reason for Tiny for me, is how fast you can actually cut them.....cutting a 5X9" with a .25mm TBN takes WAY too long(And most models don't need that small for lack of details)!!
I like it, and if 20-30 people do also, that's good enough for me:)
I cut for enjoyment, AND the look on people's faces when you say (pick it up..It's OK, they are MEANT to be handled..and the oil finish actually gets better with handling"
Keep cutting Mark!!
