Job Sheet doesn't show design

Post by BEF »

A newbie here... I made a design for a tray for my bits; all good. But when I print the job sheet, it doesn't show the design in "Job Layout." What am I missing???

I'm attaching the .crv file and a pdf of the job sheet.

Thanks, everyone!

There are tiny objects off in the FAR lower right. They're off your drawing. Delete them and all is well.

Thanks, GKAS, you were right "on the money." Not sure how they got there, but that did the trick. I'll know to look for that in the future. Thanks for helping a newcomer!

No problem, we've all been there. I think the mistake is made by drawing by accident while in a 'draw' mode. Accidental mouse clicks.

Your sympathy is appreciated! Quite a learning curve on this all. Thanks again.

BTW: We are both Axiom owners - I just got an AR 6 Pro+ as my first CNC.

Thanks. I knew about that.

Also noted that you have the Axiom Laser. I've just got it mounted and am looking for good test projects. Any suggestions?

I ran a series of small squares, and sets of lettering to test. Each done 20 ipm, 40 ipm, 60 ipm 80 ipm and 100 ipm. This is what I use to test a cut in new material; felt, thin board, cardboard, etc. I do the same for the engrave text. Each time I use a file, I duplicate it and I either remove the ones I think will not be in range, or dupe a range to get finer gradiations. You don't want to test cardboard at 20 ips. You can lengthen the burn times by using the 'Speed Scale Adjustment' (Y+/- buttons) to decrease the ips. 100 ips is a pretty light burn. You can't increase it beyond the factor of '1'. If you decrease to 50% (0.5), then you change 100 ips to 50 ips (or pretty close).

I save these test files, and pretty soon you have a good set of test runs. You CANNOT control the intensity of the laser, only the duration using different speeds. There is a connection on the laser for an intensity, but no way to control it from the Axiom.

I cut felt liners, game pieces, tiny wood pieces, and some logos. I do engrave my signature in the backs of some of my pieces.

Does anyone have a vcarve file for the 2 watt laser to show the various power and speed settings and what it looks like after a test burn on a sample piece of material?

I know I have seen them somewhere but can't remember where.

Any help is much appreciated.
