"Stacked Text" Technique

Post by mezalick »

I happen to be a fan of the "Stacked Text" Technique in the Vectric software.
So I decided to push my limits with what can be possible...
This is a three layer "Stacked" design I've had on the drawing board for many years......
I call it "The Gears of My Heart"........14" x 14" x 1" HDU.
I know this would have been easier using Aspire but I wanted to see what could be accomplished in VCarve..

Looks like you got the gears right off of the factory floor. Great job. What bit or bits did you use? Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful work Michael! I really like the paint job.
I'd say that's pushing the limits of "Stacked Text".

Thanks for sharing.....

Yessah!! Fantastic work, Michael! This is a great example of creativity using the Vectric VCarve software to produce artworks such as this.

This will be a nice addition (and inspiration) for attendees of your Vectric Classes you conduct, too!

Ummm. for us newbies. You used a stacked text technique on gears. But are they all just one file/project? It looks like you actually cutout little gears and attached them to the item. Could you explain this a little more for us new folks please?

I believe ezurick's project is all one project file. I have performed the same type operation on several projects of my own.

This project for example is originally individual items cut and glued together. I choose to attempt to design and carve it as one piece (3/4" thick pine board face are of birdhouse) with success! Carved using layers for each level (certain depths) to achieve desired results.

Great job on that gear project, Michael!!! And I second the renaming of the project as stated by Scott!

Are you familiar with the Stacked Text Technique ??
Like in the video..

Same process..just cutting down each layer to "reveal" the new layer of gears.
