CNC Not Cutting at anchor point xyz-0-home

Post by lward1988 »

I did my first test cut on the machine today, however it cut it in a crazy spot! Instead of cutting at the lower left hand "home" position, it went up about halfway and cut it up there...thank gosh its a test. The machine did not cut all the way through (setpoint .25" deep) but it did cut the OD perfect in size, just not deep enough...I feel its a homing thing but i'm unsure. Any insight?

Hi,

1) Where did you set your XYZ zeros when you created your actual project file?

XY
- which corner or in the center of the virtual material?

Z
Top or Bottom of the material?

2) Where did you set your XY zeros at your machine and where did you set your Z zero (top of material or bottom of material)?

I went back through some "origin" videos and figured out my issue was quite common. From the factory they had the start point around the middle of the table. I ended up setting one of my origins to the back left of the table for load/unload and set the front left corner as my primary "start" point. Thanks again!
