tutorial download problems

Post by jay pieper »

here is the problem, I live in Wisconsin in the NO INTERNET ZONE it seems at times
Being a new cnc user I view the tutorials often so I thought to make it easy I would
download them so I didn't have to rely on the internet. I have not been able achieve
this simple task and would greatly apperciate some guidance with this, please forgive
my ignorance on this simple task in advance.

What, exactly, is the problem you are experiencing?
-Do you get an error message?
-Does the download never complete?
-Does it try to play the video rather than saving it?
-What browser are you using, and have you tried different browsers?

I downloaded the video tutorials from original program disk 8.5 v-carve pro using the setup wizard to install
on my computer. this was successful. When I go to the tutorials to watch a video it says no internet connection.

When I go to my personal settings to the downloaded programs it shows the tutorials there with the individual
headers all there for each tutorial but when you try to open them all that comes up is the header with no tutorial video.

I use microsoft edge for my internet browser, when I first installed vcarve pro 8.5 I had downloaded all the tutorials
to be able to view them off line.

I know I am probably doing something really dumb somewhere along the line wrong, but with my limited computer
skills I dont know what.

Randall thank you taking the time to look at my post, If you can help a dumb guy in wisconsin it would be appreciated NOW RUNNING LATEST VERSION VCARVE PRO

With Internet Connection

1.) Open V-Carve Pro (do not load job)
2.) Click Help Menu Upper left third option
3.) Select click third option 'Video Tutorial Browser'
4.) A new tab will open in your browser with all the Tutorials available
5.) Find the tutorial you are interested in viewing
6.) Click view tutorial and the video player will come into view
7.) Hover cursor over video right click and a menu appears
8.) Select Save Video As (Be sure to have a folder prepared for saving your tutorial videos to)
9.) Save video to the folder you have prepared for saving your tutorial videos to

After you have performed the above in most cases you can double click on the file in the folder and it will bring up a video player and play the tutorial in an offline (no internet) environment.
If it does not play you will need to assign a video player to the file.

Hope this helps!

If you're having internet problems with downloading, you can get a lot of Vectric videos on YouTube.

Can you go to a library or a school or to a place that has good internet connection and download to a laptop of place provided computer? Then put the tutorials on a USB stick, then install in your main computer.

Another option is to purchase a CD from Vectric with the tutorials and install to your computer.

The Edge browser has some quirks.

I'd suggest using Firefox or Chrome, and follow the instructions others have provided on this thread.
