Beautiful indeed. Would you care to give a brief run down on how you create it? (or point us in the direction of where to find that information if already on here.) Thanks.

OK quick work flow.
Front, back and sides - I always flatten the material on the cnc not a thicknesser or drum sander, we all know 3/8 is never 3/8 usually a little over so I mount the material on the spoilboard. To flatten I set the zero position to machine bed (spoilboard) and the material thickness to 9mm. Toolpath is a pocket with both the start depth and cut depth set to zero, run the toolpath and the result is your material is a flat 9mm.
I then run the toolpaths for front/back and sides next, this gives me the rebate for the base and rebate for the top and then a profile to cut the pieces out, next is the 45 deg mitre cuts to join the pieces together.

Top:
Same procedure to flatten the top to 9mm then glue the contrasting timber on top while the base is still being held down on the cnc using some clamps, next day remove the clamps and then using the same flattening procedure set at 18mm, that way the piece to be carved is exactly 9mm (plus glue thickness). Next I set the 3D model height to 9mm and allow a 0.1mm glue thickness.
When completed glue the top into the rebate of the box, when dry rebate the outside of the box 6mm depth of cut and 6mm all around, this allows for the 6 x6 mm trim to hide the end grain.
I can post the crv file for the front/back and sides if you are interested.
I am sure the experienced cnc'ers would have a better way to do the above.... this works for me.

Thanks for sharing your how to information. I appreciate you taking the time. As a relative newbie, I am always interested in seeing how people approach and do things. I realize there are often different ways to approach something so I like to see how others do it. You often learn something(s) from each method. If you would care to share the .crv files, I also like to look at those and see what I learn from other’s files for the same reasons.

I have never made one of Michael's Keepsake boxes but I have made many of his Paradise boxes. Here is a couple the layouts that was used for the trays. 1/4" by 1/4" "posts" in each corner to support the tray worked pretty good.
