The purpose of this post is not to show the box I cut as I did nothing but run the files created by Michael Tyler and simply assemble the pieces.
The purpose of the post is to say a heartfelt thank you to Michael Tyler
for his time, talent and willingness to share each of those with the members of the Vectric forum.
I used Michael’s bling box to make an urn for my father in law who passed away in early May. Needless to say,
The family was quite touched with such a beautiful box and the cost savings versus a ”funeral home” urn were significant.
So to Michael I say THANK YOU!
It doesn’t seem quite enough. Perhaps one day I will have the pleasure of being able to thank you in person, but until such time this will
Have to do.
Joe

I've learned my lesson well. You can't please everyone,so you have to please yourself

Beautiful work indeed!
Sorry you had a need, but as Scott said, it means much more because you made it.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much for your kind words. It will be my pleasure if/when we meet in person someday.
Thank you for sharing the photo of the completed urn. You did a marvelous job and the finish is beautiful! I'm glad to know you were able to use the project to make your family such a meaningful memorial in honor of your father-in-law.

Re: Repurposed Bling Box
Sorry but I have to disagree with some of what you have said, to me it is only partly true & I think you have done yourself an injustice Joe, I understand what you have said about running the files & assembleing the pieces BUT you still had to finish it once made & it looks like you have done a very good job of doing that
Finishing is where I fall over the most, even one of Michael's excellent creations can look bad if not finished properly

Thank you, Martin. Finishing is certainly not my strong point. In fact, its my least favorite part of wood working.
A necessary evil though...kinda like sanding.
