Re: Horses in Poplar
Like it.
Was there a roughing pass?
What was the depth of cut?
Nice job.

Nicely done Randy!
Poplar is downright nasty, makes construction lumber look easy.

Re: Horses in Poplar
The roughing was only about 10 minutes since I limited it to where the finishing bit would be entering and exiting the material. The depth of the model was 0.46".

Randall,
They came out really nice. Any particular reason you used Poplar?

Re: Horses in Poplar
Randall,
I use poplar for the same reasons, and I haven't had any real problems like I have seen others post on here. I must be lucky. Horses look great to me. Thanks for posting them.

Re: Horses in Poplar
How do you get the milling time down so low?
Every time I calculate it comes out to about 8 hours.
Thanks

I thought that it looked like the Ultimate Dream Machine CNC from your rotary post the other day.Rcnewcomb wrote:It is a fast machine, and Gary and I have done a lot of tweaking to optimize 3D work. How do you get the milling time down so low?
