V carve in a foreign language

Post by richbutters »

Hi All, I am using Aspire and I have been asked to V Carve a sign. The sign is to be in Thai. Aspire won’t take and does not recognise a foreign language. Has anyone any idea how I can V carve in a foreign language

Cheers

Rich :D

Hello Rich,
it's pretty easy to get Thai characters in Aspire.

If they are characters, create them using Google Translator.
Then copy it to Libre Office or Microsoft Office
and save the whole as a PDF

Now you create a new file in Aspire and import your PDF.
That's all and works with all Thai characters.

And of course all the others as well :D

Best regards
Dieter

Aspire can do it. It's the font that you're using that will be the problem. If you use a font that supports Thai characters then it works as normal. With a standard Windows installation the Tahoma font supports Thai characters. If you open the text tool and paste/type in the Thai characters with the Tahoma font selected you'll see what I mean.
