Next Wave Automation touch plate with Shapeoko

Post by apopj »

Hello all,

I understand this is the Vectric forum but am hoping someone might read this and supply an answer. I have also posted to the Carbide forum site.....

I recently acquired a Next Wave Automation touch plate that I hope to use with my Shapeoko XXL. I haven't built the machine yet (still working on the table it will sit on) so haven't looked to see what connector they use to connect the Carbide touch plate. The one I have used a three ring mini phone plug which plugs into the Next Wave control board. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to use it with my XXL? I might be a simple plug and play but since I haven't built the machine yet, I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated...

I believe the Carbide Motion controller uses a Molex KK series 2 pin connector. It is the same style they use for limit switches.

Not sure if the Nextwave Touch probe requires power. I made Touch plates from 1/4” aluminum bar stock, works fine, no power required.
