GBRL Post Processor
GBRL Post Processor
Hi. I have just downloaded Photo VCarve but I note there is not a GBRL Processor. How do I go about getting this processor and how do I add it to the Processor list. Appreciate any help.

Re: GBRL Post Processor
I e-mailed them. Got the GBRL pp in both inches and millimeters. My problem was copying it to the list. Tried for hours but couldn’t get it. Frustrating.

Re: GBRL Post Processor
PhotoVcarve is a bit of a pain when it comes to Post Processors as it's an older program that pre-dates a lot of the security updates in Windows and Windows really doesn't like people copying files into Program Files folders these days.
Did you get it to work in the end?

Re: GBRL Post Processor
Can you post the GBRL PP for PhotoVCarve? Thanks

Re: GBRL Post Processor
Hello dah79,
Please find the attached post processors.
Please copy the appropriate file to the "PostP" folder of PhotoVCarve.
This is usually located at "C\Program Files (x86)\PhotoVCarve\PostP"
(Assuming a 64 bit edition of Microsoft Windows).
Or if using a 32 bit edition of Microsoft Windows
This is usually located at "C\Program Files\PhotoVCarve\PostP"
Once you have copied the new post processor, exit the application and restart it.
The metric version of the new post processor will be labelled as "Grbl (mm) (*.gcode)"
The inch version of the new post processor will be labelled as "Grbl (inch) (*.gcode)"
in the list of post processors. Please give this a try with your machine.
I hope that this helps.
Cheers,
Mark.

The Shark post processors can be downloaded from here - https://www.nextwaveautomation.com/downloads-linksmisterx wrote:I have the same problem I have photoVCarve have used it before but now have a new laptop and can't see my post processer. I have a cnc shark how am I suppose to get the processer?
Re: GBRL Post Processor
I have a MYSWEETY cnc 3018 pro. I just bought Vcarve Desktop. My post processor is GRBL Candle 1.1.7. and I hate it. I cant find anywhere online to get a new one that's compatible to my machine. Any help would be great. When I use the Grbl (gcode) in the list in Vcarve, it saves with the same icon as my Candle program but when I open it, its empty. I would love another post processor other than grbl if possible.

Re: GBRL Post Processor
Not sure what you mean by your post processor is "GRBL Candle 1.1.7", that's not a standard post processor with VCarve so presumably you downloaded it from somewhere?Raider wrote:I have a MYSWEETY cnc 3018 pro. Have you checked the code file in a program like notepad or just looked at the size of it to see if there is anything in it? Have you been on the support site for your machine to see how other people do it? These GRBL based machines seem to work in very odd ways compared to traditional CNC machines.
Re: GBRL Post Processor
GRBL Candle 1.1.7 is the software it came with. I cant find out how to change it to a different post processor

Re: GBRL Post Processor
I think you're misunderstanding what a post processor is. When you go to save the toolpaths from VCarve you choose the post processor you require from the drop down list there. Candle is a controller program that sends the code to the machine. The post processor is a set of instructions created by Vectric that translate the toolpaths into the code.Raider wrote:GRBL Candle 1.1.7 is the software it came with. Have you tried using vTransfer that comes with VCarve? That is a simple to use program designed to transfer g-code with GRBL type machines.
Re: GBRL Post Processor
Hmmm. I'm very new to cnc machining so I very well could be mistaken. When I'm done my project and go to save, which one to I save under from the given list then?
