computer upgrade

Post by plcamp »

I have just rebuilt my old computer with a new motherboard and solid state drive. I have retained my 'old' mechanical drive which holds all of my original data and programs my problem is that I do not know where my Vectric 9.5 application file is located. Please help I need my program back

I believe you can Log in to your Portal account and re-download the program.

The majority of the files are stored in 2 locations, one is normally hidden.

The locations vary per operating system.

The best thing to do is install 9.5 on your SSD from the vectric portal so all the files are in the proper location.
Then go to the old mechanical drive and get your, 1) Tool database, 2) Any purchased or created artwork, 3) Any files stored and 4) any custom post processors.

On windows 10 on my computer the visible file location is :

C:/users/public/public documents/vectric files copy all of these files and folders to the same location on your SSD

The hidden file location is:

C:/ProgramData/Vectric/Aspire copy all of these files and folders to the same location on your SSD

Un-hiding folders is a windows issue and they hide them to protect them from a causal user. If you have never made hidden visible files before PLEASE be careful!!!!

When you are done copying the hidden files RE Hide the files!!!!!!!!!!
