Curved surface vcarve

Post by MustStayBusy »

I'm new at this and I have a question on vcarving across a curved surface. I've attached the file that I created in Aspire. Basically it's a rectangle with a 30 degree curved shape profile (Beginning stock already has the curve before I begin carving). When I 3D view it appears correctly, but when I go into the modeling toolpath and preview the selected toolpath the stock is appearing flat, so if I were to use this on curved stock I'm afraid that my vcarve would not be even across the curve. Is this just a limitation of the software or am I missing something in the drawing?

Thanks, after I posted I got to thinking that my drawing needed to be adjusted since the basic drawing did not know that it was curved. If I went ahead and carved out the curve then applied the vcarve projected onto the surface then that did the trick.
Sorry for the dumb question.
