I use Vcarve 9,5. I have an stl of a cross I made. i wold like to add a
stone like look to parts of it. Is this possible . I part of this is a clip art the center.

It would be easier to do that in a separate rendering package.
You can at lease show different areas in different colors by creating vectors around the different areas and creating separate toolpaths with their own associated colors.

You can create your own textures and merge them with models, sure.
Probably not the "stone look" you are after but for an example, here are a couple of corian hearts I made where the model was just a smooth 3D heart and I added a brick texture. You can use depth to make them more or less prominent, and a host of other things no doubt.

I only see texture maker as a thing to make textures with.
It appears to only make waves. How do you add a brick

Haven't done it in a while Don, I'll look into it if no one else replies, I made a post about it years ago but old posts can be tough to dredge up here. Super easy as I recall [once you know how], I made dozens of custom textures and stones should be pretty easy with lots of available material [bmp's].
