I resisted for a long time to get one of these home assistants but finally gave in and set up an Amazon Echo. Other than my still lingering concerns about privacy (what is that nowadays, anyway...) this is a very neat gadget and it even understands me reliably in spite of my heavy German accent . We use it as a kitchen radio and first had it set up on a shelf but the booming of that cabinet resonance ruined the otherwise pretty decent sound (admittedly, I am not an audiophile freak).
Now I made a under-cabinet holder for the Echo and besides saving the shelf space it sounds so much better. This is one of the 2-hour-from-idea-to-installation projects that make the CNC so useful.
