Re: Preview wood types
Done. There are two separate zip files. One has a crap-ton of wood types that nobody will probably ever need (unless you carve on mango wood or some other bizzare wood). I think that in has like 350+ woods. The common woods file has some of the exotic woods stripped out.
Organized into 4 folders to make it a drag-n-drop affair. Folders are horizontal, vertical, horizontal (sealed) avd vertical (sealed). Sealed is what the wood looks like with a coat of sealant on it.
I did an automated scrape off a website that has the wood samples, and batch processed them, so there may be a few mistakes. Use at your own risk.

These are really terrific! You have done so much work but please know it is worth it! I love being able to simulate with the actual wood in the project! Thanks!

Re: Preview wood types
Not that hard if you know what you're doing. Just run a program to download everything on a website, delete the images you don't want, and then run a Corel photopaint script to make a rotated copy of each. All the images were on one siteSteveNelson46 wrote:Holy Crap!. That must have been a lot of work. Nice job.

Thanks Mikehell, you've done a fantastic thing here.
Except you've now made choosing the background colour just as difficult as choosing the right font style for a job.

I wasn't aware of the script function in Corel Photo Paint. I just created a script and ran it with a few test images. Really cool.Mikehell wrote:Not that hard if you know what you're doing. Thank you Mikehell,
That's a whole bunch of preview wood!
I appreciate the time you took to process these, and then sharing your work.
