calling all rotary experts
OK I've been using Aspire since 2010, but 1 week ago I started exploring Wrapping.
I watched the Rotary Import & Unwrap Full 3D tutorial and it was very useful.
I had an image scanned in as an STL and I imported it into a rotary project and it "looks correct and consistent with the tutorial.
I generate toolpaths and those toolpaths look consistent with the tutorial.
I do the Preview Toolpaths and the resulting image looks like there is a pie shape piece missing from the image.
It looks like the size of the material was too small so it cut it off.
I re-ran it and said make the image fit the material, same result.

I assumed there was something wrong with my model so I downloaded a random image from Grabcad and same problem, pie shaped wedge missing from the Preview Toolpath.
Not certain of the size limits for uploading the file so I will get to it.
If it is too large what is the preferred method to make the file available?

I know the model is not water tight. That is why I downloaded a model from gradcad and got the same problem.

If you increase the length (diameter) of the model it will close up the missing pie shape (seam of the model). You can go slighter past the edge of the material block and it's not going to hurt anything.

I changed the diameter from 4 to 5 inches, same result.

It seems like when I selected the option make material fit model it should have solved the problem.

When you imported the model, how did it look like in the 3D view? If there is a wedge after importing, then increasing modelling resolution and importing again may help. Please also consider sending both your project and STL model to our support team at support@vectric.com so we can then investigate.

Problem solved by Vectric as usual!!! Thanks Vectric support staff, your usual outstanding job.
Turns out I had boundary offsets values from a previous job and that is what caused the pie shaped wedges.
Removed the boundary offsets and poof carves as expected.

My experience with aspire is that the actual carving looks like the toolpath simulation.
With the boundary offsets removed the toolpath simulations show the model complete.
I really don't care which one you believe I was just updating the forum as to what the Vectric staff told me to do.
If you don't believe me then import a model, add boundary offsets and cut it. Then take the offsets off and cut it and report your results.
