Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Rather than splitting wood with a hatchet, how about making a wooden “Banana Split” Banana Holder with your CNC instead? This fun counter-top project is a unique way to stow a bunch of bananas that everyone will get a kick out of!
Software features used while designing this project included the drawing and node editing tools, snapping features, vector offset and boundary create, interactive trim scissors tool, and the model import function.

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
That is a very nice little gift. My son has a very good friend that cuts trees for a living so I will make one for him when I get the chance.
I really enjoy Michael's videos!! They are very well done and I enjoy him showing us the finishing techniques. The bark looks real.
Thank you Michael and Vectric

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Michael is in trouble with this one. I showed it to my wife saying that I was going to make her one since she likes bananas. She angrily asked if I was implying that she is an old battle axe. I said no, Michael is the one who came up with it. Lol. I love this project. It is useful and whimsical. Thank you.

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Michael you forgot to include the instructions for creating and painting the bananas.
With Aspire the creating isn't too bad, but creating the idea in the first place is a monumental gift only a few are blessed with!

Just for you, here is a photo of me painting a CNC-carved wooden banana!
Thinned yellow craft paint for main body, brown paint for ends and lightly dry-brush some faint light green and brown streaks over the yellow.

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Michael,
Thought you might like this..
Debbie created, made, and painted this about 30-years ago, long before we had cnc.
The bananas are real, she eats one or two every day. Now that we have cnc and laser she doesn't want to make anything anymore...
I'll bet your banana was a bit chewy and bland

Very cool! I didn't know Debbie used to make projects like that. I'm impressed!
(Yup - don't eat wooden bananas. Should have a warning label I guess. Probably the law these days. At least in California where everything is hazardous.)

Are you sure this statement is legal?mtylerfl wrote: At least in California where everything is hazardous.
BTW, nice and funny project, as usual. And good video.

Thank you. I’m considering starting taking Rogaine to fill in the blanks of hair for future video. I’m a little concerned I could possibly end up looking like a werewolf or Bob Ross, so I’m still on the fence about it.LittleGreyMan wrote:BTW, nice and funny project, as usual. And good video.

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Thanks for the project. I have made many of your projects and they are always big hits with my family and friends. I have only one question about the project. Are you using solid pine board (11 x 24) in the video or using glued up boards?
Thanks again for all the great projects, and the clear instructions that an old guy can follow! I really like how you explain the painting process. I learn something new each time your projects come out. Vectric has a real winner with you!
Thanks, Dan

Re: Free Project - Banana Split Banana Hanger
Thank you, Dan! I’m very happy to hear you enjoy the projects and finishing tips and techniques.
I used a single 1x12 (nominal) Select Pine Board from Lowe’s. Select Pine (or sometimes called Clear Pine at some stores) is knot-free, kiln-dried lumber.
Actual real-world measurements for the 1x12x24 Select Pine Board I had was 0.75” x 11.2” x 24”
