Wandering tool

Post by maineshops »

When I set up a cut ,pattern, my tool will wander about six inches off the project, then return and start cutting the pattern. Can’t seem to figure it out. Dan , Stumped in Maine

You probably have a wandering vector somewhere, or a small component too small to see, that's off to the side. A good way to tell is select the entire work surface and hit the "zoom active view" If you component view is off center you'll know there's something else there.

I don’t think it is a wondering vector because it didn’t cut anything out there. This computer is a desktop dedicated to doing the artwork. I replicated the small job on my laptop with no issues. I’m sure it is some little thing I am missing. I’m not real adept at this computer science so I can be something silly. Dan

Do you have offsets on your job setup where X-Y zero is setup?

Leo....I think you hit the problem. Ma and I were working on this project kinda together. Funeral urn box. And I’ll bet that box got inadvertently checked with default numbers in it. We’re not real swift when it comes to computer related stuff. Late 70 issues you know. Ma is the kind that just keeps mashing buttons until she gets the results she wants and I’m scared to mash buttons :(
When dose one use that feature?
Thanks....Dan , Dragonlady

Looked in tutorial information and can’t find info on offsets.
