Free Project - The "Pierced Tin" Tea Chest

Post by AmritpalP »

Michael Tyler brings you yet another great project for all you hot beverage drinkers. This unique Tea Chest has three interior compartments to attractively stow 45+ tea bags near your beverage area in your kitchen or dining room. The lid design features a faux "pierced tin" effect which is accentuated by dabbing silver paint on the pierced area panel.

This project is available to Aspire 8.0 users or higher.

The finished dimensions of this project are approximately 12.5 " W x 6.75 " D x 4.375 " T.

If you go ahead and create this project, then it would be great to see a photo of your finished piece over on the Vectric Forum. Alternatively feel free to email us a picture of your finished piece at online@vectric.com.

Good morning.

Just a quick clarification please.

On the project page under the not is a reference that this project is for both Aspire and scarves, however all other references are Aspire.

Is the project compatible with vacarve? I like the look and the PDF looks straight forward.

Here is the snip from the project page that I refer too.

Download project filesDownload project pdf

Note:
This free Vectric project requires Aspire 8.0/ VCarve 8.0 or higher.

Thanks bill

Apologies for the confusion, this project does require Aspire 8 as indicated at the top of the page. We'll correct the typo at the bottom.
Thanks,
James

Hi all, sorry to drag up an old post.
This looks like a great project that I'd like to make for my parents. However as mentioned above the project files are only available for Aspire. Would anyone be willing to convert / save them to VCarve for me? If not, maybe I could get the vectors in DXF format or something?
Also, I don't know if the OP would be willing to make any modifications but, IMO it would be nice if the slots for the tea bags were a little deeper so you could put them in vertically instead of just stacking them. Not sure how difficult that mod would be though.

Awesome thanks I'm looking forward to it!

To make the chest "deeper" like I suggested, I think the side walls, front and back just need to be about 1" wider. I suppose I can do that myself once I get the files.

Just following up with this.

The project description actually says:
"Note:
This free Vectric project requires Aspire 8.0/ VCarve 8.0 or higher."
But no VCarve files are actually included.

Please provide the VCarve files or correct that misleading statement in the project description.

Thank you.

It's against the licence agreement to convert to DXF or any other format. The project description actually says "This project is available to Aspire 8.0 users or higher." The note is a typo as stated a few posts above.

This is my variant of it. The text on the lid was made with pine inlay, lid is teak, the rest of the box is pine.
The text reads in English ”Britts tea-box” (text is in Swedish).
