Engraving bits & fonts
Engraving bits & fonts
Hi New here with my first post. I am wanting to do some engraving in wood - Maple and walnut. Would like to fill the engraving with black or white paint. The letters and numbers are small 3/32" to 3/16" high. Would like to know which bits to use and what fonts might work best. Thanks Mike G

Hi Mike, I havent tried that small of a font especially not in wood. But anything is possible. Try using a 60 degree v-bit.

Re: Engraving bits & fonts
I would try a engraving bit like a Whiteside SC50, I believe. Be very gentle, the tips break easily.

Here's a good thread discussion on machining tiny fonts.
