Thanks, Josh. I work on it some every day. Carving the scroll is kicking my behind right now. Just ordered new wood for the neck, hope to catch on soon...joe

Joe,

When I did my violin neck, I split it down the middle (this was before 2-sided carving in Aspire) so each side of the scroll faced up to carve. I figured that the fingerboard covered most of the crack and the rest was disguised by the ridge of the scroll. I need to dig out those files and try it again with 2-sided machining!

That looks really nice, Mike..Like I say, I work on this every day, both in 3D on the computer and in real life on a piece of wood. It is mental and physical gymnastics for me and a real exercise. You figured out the spiral of the scroll...that is a real accomplishment....joe

I was wondering if you are able to share the violin and cello files that you got. I have v carve desktop and cannot make 3d files. I can only import 3d files.

http://pedrolopezluthier.blogspot.com/ This is where I got the plans. The download may not work for some reason, but if not maybe you can contact Mr. Lopez directly and ask for some help...joe
