cutting a circle with raised center

Post by Ray K »

I'm trying to clear a circle but leave a center area that is left alone like a reverse donut.
but when I do the clearing it clears the complete area, how do I go about leaving the center area in touched.

sorry for the bother, I think I have it , I needed to subtract the second vector from the first, or in other works the inner circle from the outer, in order to clear everything inside the larger circle and leave the inner circle alone.

i this a pocket toolpath? If so, select both vectors, then ask for a pocket ... it will do the donut area

As Paul says the pocket toolpath will do what you want
If the area you want to clear is not to big the other way you can do this is to run 2 separate profile toolpaths one outside the line on the inner circle & one inside the line on the outer circle, output both toolpaths together so it cuts as one

I do this for narrow pockets as it cuts quicker
