re-purposed oak michigan carve

Post by gmann65 »

New to the forum and aspire, and new to cnc router. Nothing special. Here is a picture of my first design and carve. Someone threw away a big oak table, so I went into salvage mode. got it down to bare wood, then high glossed the oak. Still have to frame it yet.

Nice clean cuts, and an elegant design too! I love it when folks repurpose from 'junk'.

Really nice. You sort of have a frame with the way you cut the outside. You've reminded me that I need to use the shellac for a sealing coat before carving some projects. Thank you.

Very nice I also many many times go into full blown salvage mode. Really irritates the wife when we are going down the road and I have to stop to throw an old dresser or something into the back of my truck. But hey beats going in the landfill and it helps feed my wood addiction.
What font is that you used. Very elegant.

This is exceptionally nice. Especially since you used reclaimed wood.

was wondering if you could give me a few pointers on a 3d book I have modeled. Followed one of the tutorials on the panther model. I have tool paths and everything (I think) to hit the go button, but this really scares me lol

PaulRowntree most of my projects are done this way. If I need something I just go see the Amish and have them cut what ever I need for better quality wood.
