Some dry cedar I milled from a tree that fell on our property with the ends from walnut. All the 3D models from Vectric/Design and Make.

Very nice!
The detail on the flag looks superb, for cedar. What finish bit did you use?

Thanks. I used a 1/16" tapered ball nose. Was surprised how well the tiny stars turned out.

Here's a closeup of the box top. It 6" x 10" and was carved with a 1/16" tapered ball nose bit. Used a soft brass brush to remove the fuzzies. Finishing cut only, no roughing cut and at about 130 ipm, took about 80 minutes. Detail held up well. The box is another variation on the Paradise Box design from Michael Tyler, a bit smaller than the original as I wanted to use a single 6" piece of cedar for the top so scaled the box down. I also squared the ends to change the look and got lucky with the contrast of colors between the walnut and cedar, wasn't sure how it would work but I liked it once completed. Thanks to all for looking and the feedback.
