Vectric Videos

Post by cusoak »

On you tube Vectric has a page with a lot of videos design's, I was wondering is there was a way of telling which ones would be relevant to Cut2d .

Hi cusoak,

For a better experience in viewing Vectrics Training materials for your software package Cut2D, we would recommend viewing them through our new Tutorial Browser on the support website linked below.
Here you can see every training video that applies to your software package and also search for particular things you might want to learn about and the browser will take you straight to the part of the video where it is discussed, take a look

http://support.vectric.com/training-material

Just choose the package you have and it will bring up the tutorial browser.

On another subject in Cut2d is there a scalable grid that looks like graph paper that can be sized to different scales.

If you press the F4 key you'll get the snapping options dialog appear which will let you create a grid as one of the options.

It's not something I've ever used personally as I prefer to enter direct values but I know some people swear by using the grid system.

The video on snapping is well worth watching - http://support.vectric.com/tips-and-tri ... ideo_id=29

Re: Vectric Videos downloading

Post by cusoak »

I have been watching the Video tutorials for Cur2D.
I have found some that I want to download to my computer. Which I have done.
But when I open the file and start them in windows 10 I get the video but no sound.
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong ?

Once you've downloaded the videos how are you playing them? Are you still accessing them through the Tutorial Browser in Cut2D or are you opening them directly from a window?

If you're opening them directly then they will be playing through whichever program you have associated with MP4 video files rather than an internet browser so it might be that you have the sound too low or off in that program etc.

If you access the video via the Cut2D tutorial browser it will know whether to play the file on your hard drive or the one from the internet.

I found my answer
It seems as though windows 10 does not play mpg4 videos.
So I need to find a app or program to play them .
What I want to be able to do is to download to my computer videos that I think I will use to help me when doing a design and tool paths.
When I go to my Shop the internet is not to good so watching on line is not an option.
Thanks Jeff

What version of Windows 10 are you running? I can play MP4 videos fine with Windows Media Player and Film & TV.

If Windows 10 couldn't play MP4 files then you wouldn't be able to play the videos at all as the online versions are MP4 as well.

Re: Boat

Post by cusoak »

Hi I came across a design of a Boat that can hang on a wall.
I was wondering if I could load that into the trial version of Cut2d and try to cut it out on my Shapeoko 3d.
If not are there any in the tutorial videos that I can do that with.

As I said in your other thread on the same subject (http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?p=206309#p206309) you can only cut the tutorial files and some of the free projects (those with green trial checkmark). You can't cut anything else with the trial version you would need to purchase the full version.

There aren't any tutorial or projects that are along the same lines.
