Moulding Toolpath headache!

Post by hurst75 »

Hi All,

I've been banging my head against a brick wall with a moulding toolpath so hopefully one of you legends can ease my suffering!

I need to cut a series of simple curved profiles into 47.5mm foam to build a larger layered mould. You will see on the attached file that the toolpath when generated does not cut all the way through the material and terminates the profile 9mm before it should.. Having checked the GCode the final depth of the swept profile is 38.012mm and not full 47.5mm.

I've tried adding legs to the profile, varying the stepover and pass depth. I'm using a 12.7mm End mill which has a cutting length of 63mm.

Please help!

Extend the length of the horizontal leg of your path a bit.

Hope this helps....
