Guidelines

Post by Dandy Don »

I am trying to use the guideline option by putting cursor on side. Left or right clicking not able to use? New to CNC and aspire but am very addicted. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hi Dandy,

I don't understand your question. Can you give us a better description of what you are wanting to do?

Dandy,

Mouse to the left or top rule area, left mouse click and hold and drag a guideline to where you want it.

In the drawing area right click, from the popup menu select Guide Line.

To more accurately place a guideline, right click on a guideline.

Hope this helps.

I am designing my first project and I are stumped. I am trying to make a 24" x 36" POW flag picture. I have designed everything from scratch just looking at pic and using Aspire to draw it. The problem that I am having is with the picture of the solider, tower, and fence. I want to 3D that in wood but not able to. Watched so many tutorials about zero plane and multiplying. Followed step for step but doesn't work. Is there a way to convert the 3D images that I created ex: Head and Tower into clip art? I created a dish and brought a clipart image into it and worked when I zero planed and multiply. I can send file if need be.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Can you post a picture of what you are doing and how far you have gotten? Are you looking for true 2.5D or just v-carved?

When you say you have created some 3D components yourself how have you done this? I am thinking that you may have just drawn some vectors (lines, curves etc) which are not 3D but 2D to create anything 3D from scratch using the software you need to be using the modelling tools which you don't seem to mention at all in your post.
As highpockets has said a screenshot of what you have done so far & what you would like to do would help a lot

Martin you are correct in saying that I drew some lines. Then I went into modeling and converted lines into 3D. Don't know how to take "screen shot" or I would. I created dish then put "3D" objects into dish and trying to multiply but objects still extend above "zero plane". I am doing something wrong I know but when I make dish and import "clipart" and follow instructions for multiply it works. ???

Don,

If there's nothing copyrighted in the file. Can you upload your Aspire file so we can take a look?

Dandy
I understand that, but can you upload the Aspire file not just a screenshot?

To upload the file scroll down below the comment area of the reply screen, click on Upload attachment and follow the instructions.
Your file must be under 2mb in size. If it's larger than 2mb try zipping the file or putting it in a Dropbox folder and post the link to the Dropbox folder.
