I downloaded the STL file to make a sphere using a 3 axis CNC. It breaks a sphere into 4 parts that can be cut with a 3 axis machine and then assembled into a sphere. The attached picture shows the render after the finish pass is done and a profile cut around each piece through the material. The finish pass is setup to cut to the edge of the material to better show what it is doing in the picture.
I have tried changing the model position in the material and it has not helped.
My problem is that for some reason only the top half of the model is being cut.
My material is 1.5 inches thick.
When I imported the model, I scaled the model to be 1.49 inches in Z (with X and Y scaling to Z). I centered the model in my material and made sure the model was completely contained in the material.
I have made many 3D bas Reliefs from STL files and I have never encountered this problem before. Obviously I am doing something wrong, but I just cannot figure out what it is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Add a zero limit plane and offset the boundary the radius of the mill.

Re: Need some help with a 3D model
When you imported the .stl did you set the Zero Plane Position to "Bottom"? Looks like yours was set for "Middle."
