I've starting a project to machine 3d parts.
I have cad software so, i can modify the part if needed.
I have found some .dxf pieces. The problem is when i import into vcarve pro.
I've created the project.
go to modeling, open the "folder" find the file and import into vcarve pro.
at this point I get the error "failed to load component data from file . file name . check file contains model.
the dxf is editable in the cad software. So, how is a model added to the file.
Cad software is "TurboCad Deluxe"

For DXF 3D files the data must consist of meshes or triangles. Can you upload an example DXF file you are using?

is it definitely a 3D DXF file & not a 2D DXF file ? Have you tried importing it as vectors ?
Have you tried exporting in from you cad program as a different file type such as STL or OJB

3D .dxf files can contain many different types of entities, and Vectric only imports a small portion. You really need to know what you're doing when working with 3D .dxf' files.Rcnewcomb wrote:For DXF 3D files the data must consist of meshes or triangles. TurboCAD still exists? Who knew?
It appears that some of the more recent versions of TCD export .STL files for 3D printing. How about using .STL instead of .DXF?
