I'm looking to see if someone more experienced knows of a way to take a bitmap image and render it in 3D without having to rebuild it vector by vector. please see attached image.
the original image is in fact vector, but its such a mess the way it was built that Id have to spend a LOT of time cleaning it up and the owner just wants to flatten the image and make it 3D from a bitmap. Is this possible? Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

You can create a component from the bitmap, but you'll likely want to create an outline vector to trim it, and may need to use the Sculpting Tools to clean it up, smooth, etc.

when I do that it ends up being something of a pocket carving vs something of a 3D relief carving like he wants.

Bring the bmp into a photo editing program and invert it into a negative then it will turn the carve into a positive. Irfanview Ink scape both have the ability to invert BMPs.SkywatchMZ wrote:when I do that it ends up being something of a pocket carving vs something of a 3D relief carving like he wants.

This what you had in mind? Mind you I did no editing to the photo just inverted and brought into aspire.

Awesome! thank you so much for the help.
I had tried inverting it before with the same results as my original but the one thing that wasn't getting inverted was the background for whatever reason. I adjusted that and it took care of the issue. That is what I was looking to achieve.
Thank you again for your help!
